Understanding the NDIS Journey
Getting started with the NDIS and understanding your role as the hero of your own story
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support to Australians with permanent and significant disability. It helps you, as the main character in your journey, access the supports you need to live an ordinary life and achieve your goals. The NDIS is for people under 65 with a permanent disability that substantially impacts everyday activities.
You may be eligible if you have a permanent disability that significantly affects your ability to complete everyday activities, are under 65 years old, live in Australia, and are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa. This is your first step in becoming the hero of your NDIS journey.
To begin your NDIS journey, you'll need to submit an Access Request Form available from the NDIS website or by calling 1800 800 110. You'll need to provide evidence of your disability and how it impacts your daily life. We can guide you through this process, helping you navigate this first challenge successfully.
